TechCorr Website Taxonomy & Service-Page Build Spec

Purpose. This document is the authoritative reference for how TechCorr's website is organized and how every service page must be built. It mirrors the exact structure already used inside TechCorr's brochure / document studio, so the website and the brochure system stay in lockstep. Hand this entire document to any team or AI building or redesigning TechCorr service pages.

1. The 3-Level Taxonomy Model

Every TechCorr service lives at exactly one place in a three-level hierarchy. The same three levels tag every brochure, and every website service page MUST be tagged with the same three IDs.

  • Level 1 — Macro Category (6 total). The top-level divisions of the business.
  • Level 2 — Subcategory. A service family within a macro category. Some subcategories are standalone (no child items) — these get their own page at the subcategory level.
  • Level 3 — Service Item. A single, named inspection / service. This is the unit a service page is built for: one service page per Level-3 item.

Each level has a stable ID (e.g. aim, aim-sti, 3D Laser Scanning). Use these IDs in the CMS / data model — never re-derive them from the display name, because the same service name can legitimately appear under more than one subcategory (see §6).

2. Information-Architecture Rules

  1. Primary navigation = the 6 macro categories. The main menu shows the 6 macros. A mega-menu (or accordion) under each macro lists its subcategories; each subcategory lists its service items.
  2. One service page per Level-3 item. Standalone subcategories (no items) get one page at the subcategory level. Never combine multiple items onto one page.
  3. URL hierarchy mirrors the taxonomy. Recommended slug pattern: /services/{macro}/{sub}/{item-slug} (or a flat slug with breadcrumbs — either is fine as long as breadcrumbs show Macro › Sub › Item).
  4. Breadcrumbs on every service page: Home › [Macro] › [Sub] › [Item].
  5. Section/landing pages at the macro level (overview of the macro + grid of its subs) and at the sub level (overview of the sub + grid of its items).
  6. Search & filter should expose all three levels as facets.

3. The Service-Page Template (mirrors a TechCorr brochure)

Every service page is built from the same block set a TechCorr brochure uses. Map brochure field → website block:

  • Hero: page title, subtitle/tagline, category badge pill, hero intro paragraph, up to 3 hero bullets, hero image + caption.
  • Body sections (modular cards, two-column): each section has an icon, title, body text, and optional bullets / tags / stats. Section "types" to reuse:
    • standard — standard content card
    • dark_navy — dark navy feature card
    • closing_blue — blue closing/CTA card
    • spec_table — structured parameter / value spec table
    • tag_row — row of capability tags
    • stat_row — row of headline stats (value + label)
  • A service page MUST answer, in order:
    1. What it is (overview / tagline)
    2. How it works (method explanation)
    3. Applications / asset classes (pipelines, storage tanks, pressure vessels, exchangers, marine, etc.)
    4. Standards (cite real numbers — API 510/570/653/579/580/581, ASME Section V, ASTM E165/E709, IRATA, SPRAT, ABS, NACE/AMPP)
    5. Equipment used (name the real physical NDT tool — not "specialized equipment")
    6. Certifications / credentials
    7. Differentiators (TechCorr-specific advantages — only from TechCorr's own docs)
    8. CTA / contact block
  • Certification badges in the page footer (label + image).
  • Related services cross-links (see §6).

4. Content Discipline (non-negotiable)

  • Factual ceiling. Claim only capabilities that exist in TechCorr's own source documents. Competitor material is used only to calibrate tone/depth — it never contributes a factual claim.
  • Standards by number. Reference real standards by their real numbers (API 510, ASME Section V, ASTM E165, etc.). Never invent or approximate a standard.
  • Real equipment. Name the actual physical NDT device and how it contacts the asset. No "handheld gauge" vagueness; no sci-fi / holographic / invented instruments.
  • Brand palette. TechCorr navy / steel / blue / black, with amber as a sparse accent. No red. No orange. No warm amber washes. No fabrication imagery (welding, sparks, cutting, torches) anywhere — inspection-only visuals.
  • Manufacturer name suppression. Do not surface vendor brand names (Olympus, GE, Sonatest, etc.) unless explicitly approved. Describe the device, not the brand.
  • Trademarks. The term inTANK is trademark-restricted — always render as "tank floor robotic" or "tank floor ROV".
  • No fabricated capabilities. If a capability is not in TechCorr's own docs, it does not go on the page.

5. Publishing Workflow

Mirror the brochure lifecycle: a page moves draft → ready → exported/published. Only "ready" content goes live. Drafts stay internal. This matches the brochure studio's status field and keeps unreviewed content off the public site.

6. Duplicate / Cross-Linked Services

Some service names legitimately appear under more than one subcategory (a service can serve multiple asset classes). Examples already in the taxonomy:

  • Acoustic Emission Testing (AET) — under Storage Tank Inspection and Marine Inspection
  • Creaform Laser Testing — under Pipeline Integrity and Advanced NDE
  • AUT Girth Weld Inspection (AUT) — under Pipeline NDE and Advanced NDE
  • Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) Inspection — under Storage Tank Inspection and Advanced NDE
  • Automated Corrosion Mapping — under Storage Tank Inspection and Advanced NDE
  • Long Range (LRUT) / Guided Wave (GWUT) Ultrasonic Testing — under Pipeline Integrity and Advanced NDE
  • Internal Drone Inspection — under Marine Inspection and UAV Drone Inspection
  • API Visual Inspection — under Storage Tank Inspection and Visual Inspection
  • Visual Testing Inspection (VT) — under Conventional NDE and Rope Access

Rule: create one canonical page per unique service name, but surface it in the navigation under every subcategory it belongs to, and add an explicit "Also part of: …" cross-link on the page. Do not duplicate the body content across two URLs (that creates SEO cannibalization and content drift).

7. The 6 Macro Categories (at a glance)

  1. Asset Integrity Management (aim) — storage tanks, pipelines, exchangers, marine, pipeline NDE, process facilities
  2. Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Solutions (ndt) — visual, conventional NDE, advanced NDE, UAV drone, Demag
  3. Construction Management (cm)
  4. Rope Access (ra)
  5. Online Monitoring (om)
  6. Compliance Inspection (ci)
